Children across Minnesota will soon be heading back to school.
A new Good Morning America poll says, on average, parents expect to spend $885 on one child for various back-to-school shopping categories.
The City of Coon Rapids held a free school supply and kids’ clothes swap on Sunday to help parents.
“Our goal is basically just to get school supplies that still have useful life in them into the hands of people that need them,” Kate Anderson with the City of Coon Rapids said. “It’s hard. Everything is getting more expensive. The more we can kind of keep things that are useful in circulation instead of just sitting in somebody’s closet and winding up in the garbage. You know that’s a good thing. It saves everybody a bit of money.”
