A Minnesota bike safety group wants state leaders to crack down on electric motorcycles and mopeds being marketed as e-bikes.
The Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota sent a letter this week to Governor Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison and the Departments of Health, Commerce and Transportation.
“This is a rapidly developing issue,” said Michael Wojcik, executive director of the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota.
Wojcik said some dangerous and illegal devices are being confused with e-bikes as their popularity grows.
