The Goodhue Sheriff’s Office said they have located a deceased person following a search for a missing swimmer.
At this time, the deceased person has not been identified, and the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name at a later time.
At 4:39 p.m. Friday, calls were made to 911 about a man who went under the water while swimming in the Cannon River near Cannon Falls. The man had reprotedly been swimming with two other people who saw him go under and went after him. He was seen resurfacing two more times, but then did not resurface.
Multiple agencies responded and began searching for the man.
The body was later discovered at 6:54 p.m. and the swimmer’s family was notified.
