Some veterans are upset over a new Veterans Memorial being built in Bloomington.
Those who served our nation say they shouldn’t have to pay the $350 price tag to get their name on the Veterans Memorial in Harrison Park.
“I think it’s outrageous,” Veteran Richard Skinn said. “They don’t need to be ripping us off to put our name on there. We’re paying for our own memorial, and I don’t think that’s right.”
Kate Blessing with Bloomington Remembers Veterans, the nonprofit running the memorial, says veterans missing or killed in action, along with those who were a prisoner of war, are free of charge; all other vets have to pay.
