A suspected drunken driver is facing several felony charges after police say he blew a stop sign in Jordan and struck another car, killing the other driver and severely injuring a passenger.
According to the Jordan Police Department, the crash happened around 7:41 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Old Highway 169 and Aberdeen Avenue.
Witnesses told police a Ford Bronco was traveling westbound on Old Highway 169 “at what appeared to be highway speed” and failed to brake at a four-way stop, hitting a Mazda Miata that was proceeding south through the intersection.
The driver of the Miata, a 69-year-old man from Chaska, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 65-year-old passenger, the driver’s wife, was brought to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries.
