A New Brighton man is accused of stabbing and seriously injuring two people he was staying with in Coon Rapids.
Wesley Al McDaniel, 36, is charged by warrant with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault.
According to the criminal complaint, Coon Rapids police went to a report of a stabbing at a home near Ibis Street Northwest on Thursday.
Officers found two people, a man and a woman, in their bed, covered in blood, along with blood covering the carpet.
The male victim had multiple stab wounds, including two severe ones on his neck, one on his chest, and a serious injury to his eye. When he was taken to the hospital, staff said he had a total of 15 stab wounds and was in critical condition. He also required emergency surgery on his eye, the complaint states.
