Klobuchar makes healthcare proposals, Demuth campaign responds

Minnesota DFL candidate for governor Amy Klobuchar made a series of healthcare proposals she says she will act on if elected in November.

The proposals include a state tax credit to help Minnesotans pay health insurance premiums on the public market if the federal government doesn’t restore federal tax credits that were recently cut. She’ll also seek to expand “state bulk purchasing” of prescription drugs to negotiate lower prices.

“In addition to that, I will make sure that small businesses get more help in being able to provide health insurance, which has been a major problem because the next governor must stand up to the White House. Stand up to Big Pharma and stand up for affordable and accessible healthcare for the people of our state,” Klobuchar said at a news conference at Minnesota Oncology in Maple Grove, standing beside a physician and cancer patient.
