High School Football: Wayzata takes down defending state champ Edina 38-14

After a down year in 2025, the Wayzata Trojans look like they’re back to being contenders this season. Wayzata took down defending Class 6A state champion Edina 38-14 Friday night in Plymouth.

Trojans quarterback Thor Soukup ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, and on the defensive side of the ball, Max Beeninga intercepted two passes.

Wayzata is off to a 2-0 start this year after winning only one game last season.
