Gov. Tim Walz has authorized emergency assistance for multiple Minnesota counties damaged by severe storms earlier this year.

The counties include Becker, Crow Wing, Fillmore, Houston, Mower and Winona Counties.

Between June 28 and July 8, these counties suffered multiple damages from severe storms, which sometimes included flash flooding and tornadoes.

The aid will help rebuild critical public infrastructure that was damaged.

“The severe storms and floods that swept across southern Minnesota earlier this summer inflicted irreparable damage and loss,” said Walz. “I am thankful for Minnesota’s emergency management team for working swiftly and closely with the affected communities to assess damage and assist them as they rebuild and recover from these devastating storms.”
