17-year-old in custody after St. Paul teen shooting

A 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Wednesday night in St. Paul near Supornick Lane, according to police.

Right now, officers say a 17-year-old boy is in custody but investigators say they are trying to figure out what led up to the shooting.

Police were called to St. John’s Hospital at around 8:39 p.m. after the victim showed up in a private vehicle. Officers spoke with him and he is expected to survive.

Investigators did not release the names of the victim or the suspect in custody.

The shooting is now under investigation.
