A former aide to Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for his role in the Feeding Our Future fraud case.
Abdi Nur Salah and his brother Abdulkadir both pleaded guilty to wire fraud in January 2025, just days before they were scheduled to go on trial with Feeding Our Future founder Aimee Bock and Safari Restaurant owner Salim Said.
Abdi Salah was fired from his job as an aide to Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey in 2022 after fraud allegations came to light. Prosecutors say he registered Stigma-Free International, a non-profit used to carry out the fraud scheme, with sites throughout the state under Feeding Our Future’s sponsorship.
