A dead person discovered in the Mississippi River in 2025 has been identified as a missing Minneapolis man.

According to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, the person has been identified as Ryan Brady Grant, a 24-year-old man who was reported missing in Feb. of 2025.

Grant’s body was recovered from the Mississippi River on May 23, 2025, near Harriet Island and the St. Paul Yacht Club. At the time, authorities could not identify him, so Grant’s identity remained unknown for several months.

DNA provided by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension helped the medical examiner determine it was Grant.

How he died and ended up in the river has not been determined, but the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office said there is no evidence of criminal activity.
