Minneapolis police say three suspects detained in a recent string of damaged vehicle cases were between 11 and 16 years old.

Minneapolis police now report 172 vehicle damage cases since last Friday. Police said three suspects detained Tuesday morning on Grand Avenue were a 16-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy.

“They are barely out of elementary school and they’re doing this… That’s serious stuff,” said Darwin Lee.

Lee, owner of Fleurs De Lee, reacted after police said preliminary information indicates the three children were pulling on door handles of parked vehicles. Police said one car had a broken window while another was ransacked.
