PHOENIX — Police in Arizona are investigating a deadly fight that broke out at a soccer game in Phoenix. One of the players, a 19-year-old man who was about to begin college, was killed.
His brother said tensions escalated when the opposing team failed to stop a goal.
Police said Tumusifu Bazirake was assaulted Aug. 6 by several people who fled the scene. The teen was unresponsive in the field when they arrived.
Phoenix Fire Department crews brought Bazirake to a hospital in extremely critical condition.
