5 EYEWITNESS NEWS hosted a debate between the two candidates for Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District on Friday night, discussing topics from healthcare to the Iran war.
DFL nominee Matt Little and Republican nominee Eric Pratt are running for the state’s 2nd Congressional District, currently represented by Angie Craig, which includes Dakota, Scott, and Le Sueur Counties, plus parts of Rice and Washington Counties.
Little served as mayor of Lakeville and as a state Senator until 2021. Pratt is a current state Senator, representing parts of Scott County.
Little and Pratt first debated Social Security, federal spending and the Iran war.
Little called the Iran war “deeply problematic,” saying he would not approve “a single dollar” more for the conflict and would vote in favor of a war powers resolution that “takes the power back for Congress.”
