Teen detained after flashing knife at students at Norwood Young America school

A 16-year-old student was detained at Central High School in Norwood Young America after he flashed a knife out a car window toward other students, according to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.

According to investigators, deputies responded to the school on Tuesday afternoon where multiple students said they witnesses the incident.

Deputies later learned the teen was no longer on school grounds and during a check of the suspect’s car, they found the suspected knife. Nobody was injured during the incident.

The teen was taken to the Carver County Juvenile Detention Center and the case is being reviewed by the Carver County Attorney’s Office.
