Officer Adisak Saema says a first responder drone helped him locate - and rescue - a five year old boy with autism just as he was starting to struggle in the water.
ST PAUL, Minn. — Drone footage released by the St. Paul police revealed a quick, but dramatic, rescue on Monday.
A young boy appears to be struggling to find his footing in a pond and then St. Paul police officer Adisak Saema enters the picture, scoops the boy up and brings him to safety.
"He was scared," officer Saema said.
A concerned bystander had called police after witnessing the five year old boy, who lives with autism, wander into the pond.
"I had a call like that before but... it didn't end that way," officer Saema said. "A lot of times we show up and it's too late."
