WASHINGTON — The first person to die in 9/11 was also likely the first person to fight back against the attacks' perpetrators. 

Daniel Mark Lewin, an American-Israeli known as "Danny," had been seated on American Airlines Flight 11 that took off from Boston Logan International Airport, in a row between three hijackers, including the ringleader of the attacks. Phone calls from flight attendants on board the flight to Los Angeles reveal Lewin had likely been killed within the first 20 minutes of the flight.
