St. Paul City Council President Rebecca Noecker sat down for an interview for the first time on Tuesday after calling on the city and Ramsey County to end their contracts with Flock Safety ahead of the weekend. The City Council is set to take up her resolution Wednesday, followed by a public hearing.
Noecker said local law enforcement may be using the cameras responsibly, but she believes privacy risks and some community distrust of the technology matter more.
During a Tuesday afternoon interview, Noecker said that as recently as June, the city and St. Paul police were not aware of who all had access to the city’s Flock camera data.
