“This resolution provides at least the beginning framework for a real plan, a real plan, and I applaud the City Council for taking this first step,” said Dan Krivit, who works with the unhoused living in encampments in St. Paul.
He’s talking about a nearly $11 million plan that the St. Paul City Council passed Wednesday that’s designed to help people living in tent communities find permanent shelter.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has been following the progress of the plan since Councilwoman HwaJeong Kim first announced it last week.
This newest plan is just the latest large amount of money the city is looking at spending, on top of thousands it’s already spent clearing a single encampment over the summer.
