Watch interviews with Twins 1B Royce Lewis and SP Joe Ryan ahead of Friday’s series opener vs. Cleveland. Ryan made his return earlier this week in a start in Detroit after missing a month (left glute strain). Ryan will start again on Sunday vs. Cleveland.
The Twins are an American League-worst 13-22 since Aug. 1.
After a series opening win over Seattle on July 31, the Twins were 56-55 and very much alive in the playoff picture. But they have free-fallen since then.
Right now at 69-77, the Twins are six games back of the division lead and 4.5 games back of the final wild-card spot. However, Toronto, Baltimore, and Texas are in front of the Twins, also chasing Cleveland for that final berth.
