A St. Paul school closure review offers a look at what students may face as Minneapolis Public Schools weighs closing as many as 16 schools.

St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS) closed six schools in 2022 because of declining enrollment. A district report done one year after the closures looked at the impact on students.

It found an 88% retention rate for students at schools not affected by the closures. That rate dropped to 83% for students who had to move.
