Parents warn Minneapolis school closures could impact entire neighborhoods

Minneapolis parents are warning that plans to close up to 16 schools could hurt everyone in the neighborhood, regardless of whether they’ve got kids.

It’s one of many worries spurring them to push the district to slow down on the reorganization.

“It is going to affect us all,” said Shakiya Carter Burt.

Carter Burt has three kids in Minneapolis Public Schools, two of them at Cityview Elementary on the city’s north side.
