Oak Park Heights City Council candidate suspected of driving under the influence

A candidate for Oak Park Heights City Council was arrested Monday, accused of driving while intoxicated and refusing a breathalyzer test.

Court records show Brittany Morgan Holleran, 38, has been charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test, driving while under the influence of alcohol and not carrying proof of insurance while operating a vehicle. All three are misdemeanors.

Holleran was reportedly driving in the city of Oak Park Heights at 12:09 a.m. Monday when she made what court records said was an “extremely wide turn” into oncoming traffic near Oakgreen Avenue and 58th Street North.

A law enforcement officer observed the action and pulled Holleran over, according to court records. While attempting to stop, Holleran allegedly crossed into the proper lane of traffic, over the fog line, and back over the yellow center line before stopping.
