No. 5 Concordia-St. Paul rallies past No. 13 St. Cloud State, gives Starkey 700th career win

No. 5 Concordia-St. Paul erased a 2-1 match deficit and defeated No. 13 St. Cloud State in five sets Saturday at the Gangelhoff Center, delivering the 700th career victory for head coach Brady Starkey.

The Golden Bears (10-3, 5-1 NSIC) won 25-17, 25-27, 15-25, 25-22, 15-10 to bounce back after dropping two consecutive sets. Starkey improved his career record at Concordia to 700-100, becoming just the 28th coach in NCAA Division II history to reach the milestone.

Junior outside hitter Makenna Nold led all players with 20 kills while adding eight digs and four block assists. Kaelyn Snoozy recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 13 digs, and Kelsey Cooper chipped in 13 kills while hitting .367.

Concordia got nine kills apiece from Julia Gordon and Mehlayna Straub, who also contributed a match-high seven blocks. Freshman Abby Rolbiecki paced the defense with a career-best 20 digs.
