The U.S. Navy is reportedly considering renaming an aircraft carrier under construction that was originally intended to honor Pearl Harbor hero Doris Miller.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Navy is reportedly considering renaming an aircraft carrier that was intended to honor a Black sailor after President Donald Trump, according to CNN and NBC News.

The ship, currently under construction, was set to be named the USS Doris Miller.

Miller is considered a war hero for his actions during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
