MPD: Officer shot in stomach at Shoreline Plaza apartment released from hospital

An officer injured in the shooting at the Shoreline Plaza apartment building has been released from the hospital about two weeks after the deadly incident.

An official with the Minneapolis Police Department told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Officer Joseph Michnowski was released after being shot in the stomach in the apartment on Sept. 2.

The shooting left Muse Abdi Afrah, 61, and Dale Henry Spry, 63, dead after the shooter, Carlton Johnson II, took an elevator up to the ninth floor of Shoreline Plaza apartment building and opened fire, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) Superintendent Drew Evans said.
