The mattresses violate flammability standards and pose a risk of serious injury or death from fire, the recall said.

WASHINGTON — More than 48,000 mattresses sold on Amazon are being recalled because they do not meet mandatory flammability standards, increasing fire risk, according to federal regulators. 

The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued several recall alerts on Thursday for mattresses sold on Amazon.
