Bianca C. Wilkerson died on Sept. 18, with the cause of her death still being investigated by army officials.
VAUGHAN SURVEY, Norfolk — The Army has announced the death of a soldier from Virginia who was stationed at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.
Capt. Bianca Wilkerson, 37, died on Sept. 18 as a result of a non-combat-related incident. She was supporting overseas operations in Doha, Qatar. Wilkerson was posthumously promoted to major.
Maj. Wilkerson was assigned to Headquarters, U.S. Army Central & Third Army, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.
The incident is currently under investigation.
