Minnesota Vikings trade J.J. McCarthy to New York Giants

The Minnesota Vikings have traded quarterback J.J. McCarthy to the New York Giants for a 2027 fifth round draft pick, KSTP has confirmed with the team.

McCarthy was selected 10th overall in the 2024 NFL draft from the University of Michigan, but his career stalled out since after multiple injuries and poor performances on the field.

New beginnings in New York for McCarthy come after the team’s starting quarterback Jaxson Dart went down with a season-ending knee injury in week two.
