Minnesota judge hears two lawsuits that challenge transgender athletes competing in girls sports

ST PAUL, Minn. — On Monday morning, a judge heard motions in two lawsuits involving trans athletes in Minnesota.

The cases challenge the state's policy allowing biological males who identify as female to compete in girls high school sports.

The two lawsuits were debated in back-to-back hearings; one lawsuit was filed by a group of female softball players, the other was filed by the federal government. The two lawsuits are separate and the judge will consider each of them on their own, but they do share a lot of similarities.
