Minnesota businesses are still hiring seasonal workers as inflation pushes some people to look for extra holiday cash.
A Rosedale Center store, Rose & Loon, is adding five new hires for the holiday season. Emily Sortor said new faces will soon be working alongside her.
“It’s going to be wild but a lot of fun,” said Emily Sortor.
The store’s owner said applicants came from different backgrounds, including recent college graduates and moms looking for extra cash or part-time work.
“We call this blackout season. Right now we just shut our eyes and go as hard as we can, and then January comes,” said Nikki Hollerich.
“A couple of our hires were younger kiddos kind of out of college actually who were looking for work in general, and then we also have moms who need extra cash or want part-time jobs,” said Hollerich.
