MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis officials remain deadlocked over the city’s maximum property tax levy for 2027, with funding for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board emerging as a key point of disagreement.

The Minneapolis Board of Estimate and Taxation failed to reach an agreement Wednesday on the maximum levy. The board has until Sept. 30 to certify the amount.

Mayor Jacob Frey’s recommended budget calls for an overall property tax levy increase of 11.3%, which the city estimates would cost the owner of a median-value Minneapolis home about $409 more per year.
