Man found dead in Golden Valley lake

Law enforcement is working to learn more after a man was found dead in a Golden Valley lake Wednesday morning.

At about 7:25 a.m., the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol was requested to help Golden Valley police and Minneapolis Park police search for a missing person at Twin Lake.

The lake is located in Golden Valley next to Theodore Wirth Regional Park.

Authorities searched the lake using an underwater remotely operated vehicle and found a man in 19 feet of water, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man was recovered and turned over to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will determine his identity and cause of death at a later date.
