Man charged in shooting outside Blaine gun shop

A man charged in connection with a shooting that wounded one person outside a Blaine gun shop had rented a shooting lane prior to the assault, a criminal complaint states.

D’Marco Shane Buckney Jr., 20, of Minneapolis, faces counts of second-degree attempted murder and second-degree assault in the Sept. 12 shooting in the parking lot of Bill’s Gun Shop and Range.

Charging documents describe surveillance video that captured Buckney leaving the gun shop after he checked in for a shooting lane reservation. Buckney is seen advancing toward the victim, raising his gun and firing five shots before getting in his car and driving away.

Jail records show Buckney was arrested and booked into the Anoka County Jail on Monday. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday morning.
