Prosecutors say Dmonte Shavezz Leanna leaned out of his Buick and fired a handgun, hitting an unmarked squad car.
MAPLEWOOD, Minn. — A man is facing charges after he allegedly shot at a deputy while fleeing law enforcement in Maplewood on Tuesday.
Dmonte Shavezz Leanna, 25, is charged with second-degree attempted murder, three counts of assault and possession of a firearm after a previous conviction.
The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook that a sergeant witnessed a "road-rage incident" and began following Leanna's vehicle. Prosecutors say Leanna leaned out of his Buick and fired a handgun, hitting the unmarked squad car.
