Luther Seminary sells St. Paul campus, plans move to downtown Minneapolis in summer 2027

Luther Seminary has sold its historic Upper Campus in St. Paul’s St. Anthony Park neighborhood and is planning to relocate to a new downtown Minneapolis location next summer.

The St. Paul property was purchased by Valerian Como LLC, but the school will continue its educational purposes on campus through the end of the school year. Existing buildings — including Olson Campus Center, Bockman Hall, Gullixson Hall, several residences and the Old Muskego Church — will remain in use.

Luther Seminary Board Chair Carlos Peña says that this move reflects changes in theological education, not financial strain, noting the school has reduced costs, grown its endowment and now offers full‑tuition scholarships.
