Iran war drives motor oil price fears as Minnesota gas hits $4.47

A new U.S. military estimate says the Iran war has cost taxpayers $43.6 billion, as Minnesotans also face higher gas prices and possible motor oil sticker shock.

U.S. Central Command said as of Sept. 3 the war had cost American taxpayers $43.6 billion.

AAA reports regular gas in Minnesota rose a few cents from the previous day to $4.47 a gallon.

Event planner Kimberly Holifield— also known as ‘Glamlife Kim’ — drives more than 100 miles a day across the metro and said she is worried about what comes next.

“I do events, and so I’m always moving around, moving and shaking,” Holifield says.

“I mean, considering I don’t have an electric car, that I might not be able to move around as freely as I would like to,” she adds. “That is scary.”
