Inside Your Health: Vaccine recommendations

New fall vaccine guidance is more complicated this year as federal recommendations narrow and major medical groups issue their own advice.

KSTP medical expert Dr. Archelle Georgiou said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has limited its recommendations, prompting guidance from groups including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Georgiou said the science and evidence reviews behind the guidance are coming from the University of Minnesota’s SIDREP, the Center for infectious disease research.
