ICE agent pleads not guilty in federal court to lying about what led up to Minneapolis shooting

An ICE agent pleaded not guilty in federal court on Friday to six counts of providing materially false statements about what led up to a shooting in Minneapolis.

Christian Castro, 52, is accused of lying to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) investigators after the Jan. 14 shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis during an immigration enforcement operation. Prosecutors said video evidence contradicts Castro’s claims that he was attacked with a broom and snow shovel before he shot Sosa-Celis.
