'Daniel and the Fiery Furnace' actors preview latest biblical adaptation

WASHINGTON — A biblical epic on the grandest scale is coming to the big screen.

"Daniel and the Fiery Furnace" tells the origin story of the prophet Daniel (Mena Massoud) during a powerful and unforgiving empire, led by the ruthless King Nebuchadnezzar (Elijah Alexander).

"(The movie) really encompasses the first three chapters of the book of Daniel. We're really taking a look at the beginning of Daniel's story here," said Massoud ("Aladdin," "The Royal Treatment"). "A lot of people think about Daniel, they think about the lion's den, which happens much further down in his life."
