After Christa Pike's failed execution, here is where all 50 states stand on the death penalty

WASHINGTON — Christa Pike remains unconscious and on a ventilator at a hospital nearly a week after her failed execution in Tennessee, her lawyers said.

Little has been released about Pike's condition since the execution attempt Sept. 30. She has since remained hospitalized under guard as doctors try to get the massive dose of the barbiturate pentobarbital out of her system.
