A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper died Friday after he was critically hurt in a fall from a bridge while responding to a pursuit last month.

Trooper Bradley Ritger, 29, died from injuries he suffered during a pursuit response near the Dunn County-Eau Claire County line on Sept. 21, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Authorities said Ritger responded to a traffic pursuit and deployed a tire deflation device on a bridge deck west of the county line. As he moved to cover, he fell from the bridge onto the roadway below.

State Patrol said Ritger received critical medical care but later died from his injuries on Friday.
