What’s on the ballot for the primary election?

Tuesday is Primary Election Day, the day each party’s top candidate is selected for the general election.

In both Minnesota and Wisconsin, several statewide and local seats are up for grabs.

It’s important to know that voters can only vote for candidates from one political party on Primary Election Day — an important rule that differs from the November election. Anyone who votes for candidates from more than one political party will not have their votes count.

Here’s a look at what you’ll find on your ballot Tuesday.

All Minnesota voters will have these races on their general election ballot:

• Governor and Lt. Governor,
• U.S. Representative,
• Secretary of State,
• State Treasurer,
• Attorney General,
• State Senator, and
