What’s OK and not allowed at polling places

Tuesday is the primary election in Minnesota, meaning thousands of voters will be headed to the polls.

Minnesota typically doesn’t have many allegations of voting violations, but with more citizens on high alert, here’s what is OK and what isn’t allowed at polling places.

Authorized Personnel

Here’s who is allowed at polling places on Election Day:

• Voters (and their minor children),
• Poll workers, and
• Someone assisting a voter.

That’s it. By law, Minnesotans must vote and leave, as people aren’t allowed to gather or linger inside the polling place or within 100 feet of the building.

Campaigning

No campaigning is allowed inside the polling place or within 100 feet of the building.
