City officials said they have begun to remove cameras, and they should all be down by the end of the week.
WEST ST PAUL, Minn. — The city of West St. Paul has ended its contract with Flock Safety, a license plate reading company that has come under scrutiny across the country.
In a message to the community, City Manager Nate Burkett said the cameras are coming down this week. Burkett explained that he decided to suspend the contract with Flock after hearing from council and community members. He said law enforcement in the city "used this tool the right way," but unless the public understands and trusts the tool, it "is not worth using."
