WEATHER: Summer-like heat holds on

8 hours ago 16

Record high temperatures will once again be possible today.

MINNESOTA, USA — Sunday was an exceptionally warm day in Minnesota. For the Twin Cities, it was the latest 90 degree day on record! We tied our record high temperature from back in 1928.

On top of being unseasonably warm, yesterday was also quite windy. Peak gusts reached more than 35 miles per hour in the metro, and were higher than 40 miles per hour for some spots to our west.

Winds will be considerably less gusty today, but there will still be an occasional breeze out of the south/southwest.

If we hit our forecast high of 85 today, we will tie yet another record! Our average high on October 11th is 61.

A system moving in from the west will give us an uptick in cloud cover tomorrow. While the chance of rain in the Twin Cities is low, it is possible that we get a passing shower during the second half of the day.

Northern Minnesota will be cool and overcast with scattered showers on Monday. For the metro, enjoy another day of summer-like warmth!

A strong system is headed our way for Wednesday evening into Thursday. This will provide us a chance at soaking rain along with strong winds by late week. Get your fall layers ready, as morning lows drop into the 30s next weekend!
