Weather Alert for Heavy Rain Monday and Tuesday

This upcoming Monday and Tuesday, a heavy rain event is expected across Minnesota and much of the Northern U.S. This could have a disruptive impact on Monday, particularly for any travel and commutes.

Widespread, soaking rain will begin by early morning, spreading North through the day. Pockets of heavier rain will develop and could introduce a localized flooding threat, though it isn’t expected to be widespread.

Entering into Tuesday, the rain won’t be quite as heavy, but scattered, intermittent showers are likely through the day. Tuesday is Election Day, so heading to the polls may be a bit soggy.

As a cold front passes with the low pressure center, cooler air will come in Wednesday and remaining rain will be more of a drizzly mist than the soaking rain on the front-end.
