VANCOUVER, Wash. — A mail carrier's familiarity with his route may have helped save a Washington woman's life.
On Aug. 17, the carrier noticed one of his regular customers in Vancouver, Washington, had not picked up her mail for several days. That was unusual. She normally collected it every day, and the carrier knew she had mobility issues. He had knocked on her door but received no response, so he called 911.
