Vadnais Heights city council member will not be charged for tossing campaign sign

A Vadnais Heights city council member will not face criminal charges for removing a mayoral candidate’s campaign sign following an investigation by Mounds View police.

A police report obtained by 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS detailed the investigation into Katherine Doll Kanne, a Vadnais Heights city council member accused of pulling Vadnais Heights mayoral candidate Greg Urban’s campaign sign out of the ground and tossing it into a yard.

Because Doll Kanne is a city council member, Mounds View police investigated the incident instead.

According to the police report, Doll Kanne was caught on camera removing the sign, but because she did not damage or steal it, there was no crime to cite her with.
